  1. Thank you for the poll results. Just an update further to our previous communication. My 14-month son is now taking only one nap a day at about 1pm as he simply couldn’t take a 2nd nap even though he could fall asleep for his morning nap for about 2-2.5hours. With a long morning nap and refusal to take a 2nd nap, I reckon it is a sign that he is ready to drop to one nap a day.

  2. Thank you so much for this blog. I have been reading it for about 2 weeks now. I have a 2 month old and I find the information very helpful. I have read Babywise and I am trying my best to follow it. However, I do have one question. Are their any steps to follow when you let your baby cry it out? When I put him down for naps he will sometimes cry (not all times). I have tried to let him cry it out, but he usually will cry until the next feeding time. Usually, I gill go ahead and feed him at the 2 1/2 hour mark instead of the 3 hours because I feel sorry for him. When I put a pacifier in his mouth he will get some sleep. I know Babywise says not to do that, but I feel like he needs to get some sleep. Should I just shut the door and let him scream? Is it ok for me to go back in to calm him down with the pacifier? Any advice would be appreciated!

  3. Hi, After looking at this poll result I was wondering if you could post on your blog index a typical schedule at each month. I know everyone is different but to see the change from each month at a glance would be extremely helpful. By the way, I posted a little while ago that my girls were still not STTN. Well, they still are not, but I think the scheduling part is down. Hopefully soon we will see some changes in the night!

  4. Is it possible for a baby to start dropping the am nap before 12 months? What is the average nap time for the am nap of a 10 month old? Do the am nap time start getting shorter at this age?

  5. I'm wondering the same thing. My 10 month old will sleep in the morning (8:30-10am), but won't go down for his afternoon anymore. He stays awake/cries in his crib, so we just take him out and he's usually fine until his bedtime. Does this mean we should try keeping him awake in the morning and putting him down only in the afternoon? Is it took early?
