Preschoolwise Bargain Price

All links to Amazon are affiliate links.
I was just looking on and saw that they have On Becoming Preschoolwise on sale for a great price right now. It is $4.40 for a brand new book! List is $12.95 so that is a great deal. Check it out if you don't have it yet! Preschoolwise is definitely one of my favorite books in the -wise series. I think it is even my very favorite. It is worth the buy.

Hi Val,

I am curious, knowing you follow both babywise and baby whisperer ideas, what you'll do in the next couple months with regards to feedings. Will you drop the dreamfeed, as suggested in Babywise? Or will you switch to a four hour schedule, as suggested in the Baby Whisperer? Any thoughts as to why to do one over the other?

I just, with my 5.5 month old, switched to a four hour schedule. Kept the dreamfeed because he still wakes up by 6AM every morning (I'd like him to sleep til 7. I don't FEED him at 6. He just hangs out and chats to himself for an hour).

Thus far, the four hour schedule is GREAT! Because of it, or maybe by coincidence, my boy is taking two long naps and a catnap for the first time ever. Amazing!

Thanks for your thoughts!

I am glad everyone got them! I have noticed they are no longer discounted. It was either a limited time offer or they sold enough they decided to raise the price again :)

Overly Active,

I will definitely check yours out. Are you in the Yahoo group? Rachel (my co-moderator) has a sleep blog:

I will be dropping the dreamfeed first.

Night sleep is the most important sleep. According to Healthy Sleep Habits, night and day sleep are different, and while both are important, night sleep does the most. I want to establish long, continuous nights first. I think that is more important than a 4 hour schedule.

In the end, it seems most babies end up being ready for both relatively close to each other, so if you do the 4 hour schedule for 2-4 weeks before dropping the dreamfeed, I don't think it will be a major problem. I personally just wouldn't continue the DF until 8 months like the Baby Whisperer says. I think dropping the dreamfeed is more beneficial than dropping a daytime feeding.
