This is how the whole product review got started. Reader Carlee asked me if I would review an item for her. It is called the Pumpkin Sack. Here is what Carlee has to say about it:

"Here's how it all started... when my oldest was a baby, it was so difficult to use coats and blankets with the car seat. Even products that attached to the car seat didn't work because when I took her out, she was uncovered. Plus, they are so big and bulky and not good for just slightly chilly weather... and since I can use all different types of material, the Pumpkin Sack can be used all year round and customized to the weather.
When my second came along, I knew I had to do something about it so my husband and I put our heads together. I wanted something that could go from crib to car seat and vice versa without disturbing her when asleep. After I made some like this, I decided it would be great to add a swaddle since I LOVE a good swaddle. Then, my husband took a look at the prototype, and asked if there was a way to add an opening so that you could change diapers without taking the baby out. He also was the one that recommended I add snaps on the side so that it was easier to put baby in. So, in the end, what was produced was a wearable blanket that is compatible with seat buckles, has a detachable swaddle and a Velcro (or button opening depending on the style) opening for diaper changes. I named it the Pumpkin Sack™© after my two little pumpkins... and my inspirations."

When I first got it, I wasn't so sure if I was going to like it. I live in a really cold climate, so it seemed like it could be a nice idea, but like pretty much everyone around here, I own a J.J. Cole Bundleme (which I do love, by the way). That seemed to do just fine to keep her warm. But then I started to see potential problems with just doing the bundleme. Baby stays nice and warm in the carseat, but going from carseat to the building can get cold, and a jacket on in the carseat with the bundleme can be too hot. If you have only one child, moving the jacket on between car and building might be possible, but not always with three.

Anyway, a nice feature about the pumpkin sack is that baby can stay warm between here and there. Also, for the younger baby, it would be nice to be able to have them sleep in it, move them to the carseat when leaving, and still have baby all safe and snug without disrupting sleep too much. So here is a rundown of great features:
