Okay guys. This is seriously, seriously a great book--especially for moms. Especially for moms that we all tend to be like: busy over-achievers. It is down to earth and well-written.
The point of the book A Minute for Me by Megan McDonough is to help you learn to take a few minutes for yourself each day. To "live deliberately" as Thoreau put it. Here is a great quote from the book:
"You can think about the past, you can plan for the future, but the only time you experience life is right now. This is as good as it gets! Life is always happening right now. If you are constantly re-running the "to-do" list through your mind, or rushing to get one thing done so you can do something else, you miss this moment. In the blink of an eye, life goes by and you wonder how you got to be that person in the mirror" (page 14).
That is the perfect quote for our modern society. There are so many things I could quote from this book that resonated with me.
Needless to say, I love the book and I think you will, too. So let's just get right to the entering process.

I think it is very important because you cannot draw water from a dry well. If I am empty, my family will be empty.

Entry Rules
- You must leave a comment in order to have an entry.
- You must leave a separate comment for each entry. This is not so I can get lots of comments--it is because it makes it a million times easier to choose a winner. It takes less time, and less time is good. Plus, it makes sure I don't miss an entry.
- You don't have to do all seven entries...for example, if you just want to follow this blog, you can just do entry one.
- One entry per comment.
- Up to seven entries per person.
- You must fulfill the rules of each entry for each entry to count. If I see the entry is not valid (did not meet entry requirements), I will disqualify your entry. Trust me, I check.
- Entries will be accepted until Saturday, February 25 when I choose the winner.
- The winner will be randomly selected at random.org
- The winner will be announced Saturday, February 25.
- If you would like, you can add your email address to your entry. If you are the winner, I will email you to let you know. You do not need to add your email address in order to win. I understand not everyone wants to share their email addresses with the world. I will announce the winner on the blog, so you can check the blog Saturday to find out if you won.
- Once the winner is announced, you will have one week to contact me or another winner will be chosen. Be sure to check back. The only thing worse than not winning is to win but not realize it in time!

Finding time for myself is definitely important but I often don't make it a priority. I know I feel better and am a better mom/wife/co-worker when I do have those moments just for me. It's like recharging your batteries.

I definitely need some "me" time and "girl" time to recharge. Our church has park day each week where all the moms get together and chat while the kids play. I never miss!

At Roomtime, Naptime and after the kids are down for the night, I take ten minutes (sometimes I set a timer to make sure I do it) and do something I want to do! I'm a more joyful mommy and wife when I do!

Finding moments to myself are crucial to remaining a nice and patient mom. I find I can get this time during independent playtime, nap time, and after kids are in bed for the night. Thank you Babywise for providing me with that!

Finding my own time is difficult, but as I was pregnant with my second, I was good about sitting down for at least 30 minutes as soon as my toddler was down for a nap. It was really nice!

I think it is incredibly important to get time to myself each day. I try to get up at least 30 minutes before my daughter wakes up so I can journal, read the Bible, and spend a few minutes praying. Can be very hard to do, but crucial and worth it!

As important as "me" time is to my well being, it is often the last thing I find time for!! Having twins now that are 6 months old, it is even more crucial to find that time so I can continue to be the wife and mother I desire to be!

I try to get ip early to find time "for myself" which for me is often time in the Word with the Lord. It's hard to find moments throughout the day!

I think finding time for yourself is very important because if I don't know myself, it will be hard to get to know this little person I'm coaching in becoming an adult. I'm not very good at finding time for myself, but I've found that if I specifically plan to do something for myself during a nap or independent play and follow through as if it were as important as eating, I will take the time and feel better.

Sounds like a great book!
I need time for myself everyday while my 3 kids nap. The oldest has quiet time for 1 hr. 10 minutes so that I can be by myself for awhile.

Yes, I think it is important to find moments for ourselves. Right now my "me" time is during my toddler's nap. I'm pregnant, so I just nap during it. :)
I'm a follower! Thanks for a chance to win. This book sounds like the perfect topic for me (to not feel guilty when I do get time to myself).

I think it's so important to find moments throughout the day for yourself...without time for myself, I don't have the patience for all of the daily trials of life with babies.
