Time Change Warning...already!!!!!!!

Yeah...I can't believe it either. Where I live, the time change is March 11, which is just over a month away... especially since February is short. Here are my posts:

Can't believe it's that time of year already! Question, my 9 mo has been waking at 6:24 on the dot for the last 2 weeks. She used to sleep till 7 (dwt). Is this something that i can fix with the time change? It seems as though her "clock" is stuck. I'm also wondering if something keeps happening at 6:24? I'm at a loss. I've tried early bedtime, extending wake time. I'm posting her schedule below in case you have any other ideas!
Wake at 6:24, will talk/babble for a bit, 7- up and bottle/breakfast
9:15- nap
11-up and bottle/lunch
1:30- nap
3-3:15 up and bottle maybe a snack
5:45-6 bottle
6- dinner
7-bottle (sometimes) and bed. Sometimes this is closer to 6:40 depending on how tired she is.
Thanks! Hope you are feeling well!

That is odd. I would wonder if something is causing it? Are there noises? Could she be cold and waking up? Are you awake before that so you know when she is waking, or is that the time she wakes you up?

At any rate, it is something you should be able to fix with the time change--so long as it is not caused by something specifically happening to wake her (like someone in your house getting ready and waking her up).

I normally wake up at 6:30. But I always hear her at 6:24 now making noises. We spent the night at my mom's Saturday and she slept till 6:40. My husband is deployed so is just us-the house is quiet in the mornings. I'm just confused at this point! I don't hear our neighbors, and our bedrooms are next to each other so I'd hear something if she were I think. Thanks for the reply! If any other moms read this and have input I'm all ears!

So since you are just hearing her at 6:24, I would say there is a good chance she is waking before that. Do you havea video monitor? If so, I would set my alarm for 6 am and watch her and see if you can see when she wakes up and what might be happening at the time.

I would wonder if she is getting cold? Maybe it is warmer wher she was sleeping at your mom's house?

Hello! I just came across your blog recently and I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate it! It is great that you are helping so many mothers!! My daughter is 11 wks old and she used to wake up around 3am but lately she is getting up later around 6:00. I'm still treating that as her middle of the night feeding, I put her back down right after she eats. After her 6:00 feeding she gets up again around 9:00. My ideal wake time for her would be 7am when I go back to work so I figure the time change will automatically take care of that making her 6am wake up 7am. My question is how to handle her bedtime. Her last feeding is currently around 9:30, in bed by 10:00. In hindsight I should have tried to make her bedtime earlier but I'm a first time mom and didn't know what I was doing and I went with her flow. We do the other BW principles though (eat/play/sleep) and she doesn't cry going down for sleep. She also cluster feeds at night. Do you have any advice on the best way to get her to bed earlier? My target would be around 8:00-8:30. Also I'm assuming I'd have to start doing a dream feed if she sleeps earlier right? She is a pretty structured baby and tends to get stuck in her ways. Here is her current schedule, after I put her down around 9:00 she always gets up 30-40 min later to eat again. For that feeding I have no wake time. I really appreciate your help!!
6:00 eat
6:30 sleep
9:00 eat
9:50 sleep
12:00 eat
1:10 sleep
3:00 eat
4:10 sleep
6:00 eat
7:10 sleep
8:00 eat
9:00 sleep
9:30-9:40 eat
10:00 bed

Sorry I said my target bedtime would be 8:00-8:30 but I'd be fine with anytime earlier too if I could make that happen. Thanks!

sooze,

I would treat when she goes down at 7:10 as bedtime. I assume she is waking on her own after that? You could also just put her down after she eats at 8 PM. Do the bedtime routine you normally do at 10 PM. Just be assured that it might take her some time if she is the type to resist change, BUT she is still quite young so you don't need to worry about her not being able to change it up.

Suggestions- my 11 month old has been waking at 6 am the last couple months. I feel as though I have tried everything. Earlier bed time, later bed time, stick on her schedule more relaxed. When she wakes at 6 she does cause any ruckus so I leave her till about 7.
7 - milk follow by breakfast
9ish- nap
1030- she wakes
11- milk
12 - lunch
2- nap
330- she wakes
630/645 - in bed
I am fine if this is just her wake time but I watch for when she acts tired and it's all over the place. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Doesn't cause ruckus till closer to 7

Hi Sarah, she is old enough to start going with "set naps." I have a post on that. Just have set nap times of day and have those be the times she naps.
