That C.S. Lewis sure was a man with a gift for wisdom. "It's not the load that breaks you down. It's the way you carry it."
Here is the funny thing. It seems Jack Sparrow also had his fair share of wisdom. He said basically the same thing:
"The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem."
Oh boy do we ever face some difficult loads in life. We face some trials. We have some bad days. We struggle. We have a hard time doing it all. We face fatigue, loneliness, monotony, chores, death, sickness, pain...there is a lot we encounter in life.
But it is all about perspective. It is how you carry the load. It is your attitude.
You know the thought on laundry? You can either grumble about having to do laundry or you can be grateful that you have laundry to do. Having laundry to do means that you and your family have clothes to wear. Having laundry to do means your children are close by.
It isn't easy to face difficulties with a positive attitude. When you are having a hard time, shift that attitude around and carry that load in a different way. Change that attitude and you can find yourself facing your trials with grace and a smile.
