Book Review: The Preschooler’s Busy Book

Book review of the Preschooler’s Busy Book by Trish Kuffner. Find out what the book includes and if it it is worth buying or not.

Preschooler busy book

I recently reviewed the Toddler’s Busy Book: Book Review: The Toddler’s Busy Book. The Preschooler’s Busy Book is also by Trish Kuffner. This is also a good book.

The Preschooler’s Busy Book also has 365 learning games and activities. It is for the age range 3-6 years old. Here is a list of the activities found in this book:

  • Tips for planning activities
  • Rainy Day Activities
  • Kids in the Kitchen: This chapter has a lot of recipes that are easy to make with kids.
  • Outdoor Adventures
  • Out and About: This chapter has good ideas for things to do while driving in the car. I think this is great because you can do things that developmentally help your child rather than just turning the DVD player on.
  • Reading, Writing, ‘Rithmetic, and More: This chapter has reading readiness, math, geography, and basic botany.
  • Music, Dance, and Drama: This chapter has ideas for music and rhythm, movement and dance, and dramatic play.
  • Arts and Crafts: including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, paper-mache, and crafts
  • Birthdays and Holidays
  • Recipes: Recipes for paint, finger paint, playdough, clay, glue, paste, and more.
  • Gifts: Gifts ideas your preschooler can make
  • Books: Good books for children in this age range

I really like these books by Kuffner. I recently discovered that she has a sibling busy book and I ordered it (review to come). They are so inexpensive and have so many ideas. The activities are easy to do and inexpensive to implement (most are free).

  1. Val,Hi! My name is Angi, mom to Santiago (3 months old) and your blog has been a huge blessing for me. I am implementing BW and I am already seeing the benefits of it. Most of the time, I know what to expect of my (our) day and Santi is going to sleep peacefully alone. Now, I am writing this, because I have many Spanish speaking friends, whom I have been sharing about BW and ask me lots of questions. I have decided to start a blog in Spanish sharing about my journey as a mom and my experience with BW. Crazy thing is, I am just starting this mothering marathon.I wanted to ask you if you would mind me translating some of your posts into Spanish for my blog (including a link to your post).I would not be doing a post by post translation. I would simply include some of your posts along the way. Mainly the BW related ones. Please, let me know what you think.I appreciate all your help.

  2. Hi Valerie! Thanks so much for the review. Question regarding Amazon ordering. When I order from your link, I hope you are getting some kind of a commission. That said, if I order more during my visit other then buying just the specific iten that I linked from will you get credit for that also? I would like to support you because of all the support you give me and so many. so I am asking because I will do my amazon shopping a little differently in the future if this is the case. thanks! Ashlee

  3. Kristy Shreve Powers,You are welcome! I really enjoy these books. I know there are a lot of resources on the web, too, but I am a book sort of person 🙂

  4. Angipas, that would be fine 🙂 I like the linking to the original post idea and saying who wrote it. Translating would be helpful for those who don't read English. Once you get it going, let me know and I will post about it so those who find this blog but only speak Spanish will be able to get help, too.

  5. Hi Ashlee! I do get a percentage (small 🙂 ) of the orders place, and I do get it off of everything placed when you link to Amazon from this site. So if you clicked on a link and ordered a spatula, I would get a percentage of it…lol. I think that is pretty nice of Amazon :)I looked at your photography blog–you are really good! Didn't you say you live in Cali? Too bad! I am always looking for a good photographer.

  6. Thanks Valerie! I need the positive strokes right now. As much work as the business is I appreciate positive feedback. My love language is praise so it's a good outlet to get that 🙂 I really need to update my website with my new stuff and get my blog really jamming so I can get more praises. May sound silly, but hubby isn't so good with it so I need to find it elsewhere 🙂 Need to get my little guy sleeping beofore I can get anything done though :)Yes, I am in Cali (good memory) I have occasion to go to Utah. I have a sister in Logan and I do occasional weddings there also. I would love to do a family photo for you. You do so much for us, it would be a pleasure to give back to you.Would you mind if I posted to the group about supporting you through linking to amazon from your site? No worries if not.thanks again, ashlee

I love pictures and have said I wish I could have a personal photographer to follow my family around taking pictures of our lives…lol. Just for me to view, not the whole world like the paparazzi!
