19 different Easter books for kids. These picture books range from fun to spiritual and are great to read with your kids this Easter!

Mom and daughter reading a book

If you follow me on Instagram, you often see my face out bookshelves where I rotate books for my kids. You can see what I am talking about and get a tutorial here: Face Out Bookshelves {Ideas and Tutorial}

One thing I consistently rotate on these shelves is seasonal and holiday books.

With Easter approaching, I wanted to share my favorite Easter picture books with you.

Easter Books for Kids

Do not ever feel like you need to own every book or even half of the books listed. The library is a great resource!

Something I have always done is slowly build up our collection and buy one or two new books a year for each holiday as it comes.

Also, many of these books are available in board book and picture book format. Take note of that if you are buying them so you get the format that is best for your family right now!

I have listed the books in order from youngest reading level to oldest, with the more spiritual books being listed last.

Pat the Bunny by Dorothy Kunhardt

This is a classic book! It is touch and feel. It is more about a bunny than an Easter book, but because we equate bunnies with Easter, I wanted to include it. This is great for baby through preschooler.

Llama Llama Easter Egg by Anna Dewdney

This little llama is a favorite character of children. I always like to have a book or two for each holiday stars a favorite character of my child’s. This is a rhyming book as you are used to with this series. This is ideal for baby through preschooler age groups.

We’re Going on an Egg Hunt by Laura Hughes

Something I love about this book is that it is a lift the flap book, so you get to “hunt” for the eggs, too! This is ideal for baby through preschooler (but be careful with flap books with certain ages of baby…they often rip them off!).

Happy Easter Mouse! by Laura Numeroff

This is the beloved mouse from the “If you give a mouse a…” series. This focuses on colors and counting. It is short and isn’t the same as the “if you give a mouse a …” series type of storyline. It is geared more toward baby through preschool range.

Spot’s First Easter by Eric Hill

This is another lift the flap book. This book focuses on counting. This is ideal for toddler on up to five years old.

Duck & Goose Here Comes the Easter Bunny by Tad Hills

This is another series kids love! I feel like this is the perfect character to be in an Easter book–baby birds! This is ideal for toddlers through about age five.

Ten Little Eggs by Jean Marzollo

This is a fun countdown book featuring eggs. This is ideal for preschooler to about age 6.

Clifford’s Happy Easter by Norman Birdwell

Clifford was always one of Kaitlyn’s very favorite characters, so we have a lot of Clifford books! I love Clifford for the social skills and focus on empathy. This book is idea for preschoolers and younger children.

Here Comes the Easter Cat by Deborah Underwood

This is a book that is part of a popular series. This cat decides to be an Easter Bunny. This is ideal for ages preschooler to about 5-6 years old.

The Grumpy Easter Bunny by Justine Korman

Sometimes we all feel grumpy, and reading books about that can help us realize we need to work to be happy. You might not love this if your child tends to read about the gripes of others and jumps on that train. It is a cautionary tale with a good moral about finding joy in serving others. This is ideal for preschoolers through 8 year olds.

Happy Easter Little Critter by Mercer Meyer

This is a familiar character that always brings humor to the stories. This talks about a lot of traditions and holidays. This is great for preschoolers through 8-9 years old.

Happy Easter Biscuit by Alyssa Satin Capucilli

Biscuit was a favorite character of McKenna’s. This is a fun lift-the-flap book starring the favorite puppy. This is ideal for preschooler through 8 years old.

Bunny Trouble by Hans Wilhelm

There are many Bunny Trouble books, so your child might be familiar with this character. This bunny gets caught by a farmer and his mother tries to free him. This is ideal for preschooler through 8 years old.

Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure by James Dean

Pete the Cat is a character most children are very familiar with (the audio books are really fun, also). Pete helps the Easter Bunny in this book. It is ideal for preschoolers to 8-9 year olds.

The Night Before Easter by Natasha Wing

This author has a whole series of “The Night Before” books, so it is a fun collection to create. This is ideal for preschooler on up through 8-9 year old children.

Splat the Cat, Where’s the Easter Bunny? by Rob Scott

This is another lift the flap book starring a favorite character. This book is ideal for children preschooler up to 8-9 years old.

How to Catch the Easter Bunny by Adam Wallace

This is a fun book that inspires children to build STEAM traps to try to catch the Easter Bunny. There are a few books in this series (Leprechaun, Tooth Fairy, Monster…). This is ideal for children ages preschooler to about age 10.

God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Tawn Bergren

This is a beautiful book that focuses on the religious meaning behind Easter. This is ideal for preschooler to about age 8.

The Easter Story by Patricia A. Pingry

This is a simple book that just gives the basics of the Easter story as found in the Bible. This is ideal for preschooler through about age 6.

Conclusion

While there are 19 books listed here, it really is jus the tip of what is out there. Happy reading!
