Sample schedules for a 10 month old using the Babywise method. This is the 11th month of life. Baby schedules for 43-48 weeks old.
This post tells you all about what to expect with your 10 month old Babywise baby. This is the eleventh month of life and baby is 10 months old. By the end of this period, your baby will be 11 months old.
I will walk you through what to expect during this month, share what my kids did during this month, and share sample schedules from other Babywise babies from this month.
There is a wide range of weeks old for baby in these posts because the weeks old and the months old don’t perfectly line up. I have included extra weeks at times so you can easily find the age you are looking for.

Babywise Baby Eleventh Month Overview
Eat
Wake
During waketime for this age group, be sure baby is getting plenty of physical movement and also some mental challenge each day. If your baby does not get enough of either of these, you will have a baby who wakes from naps early and/or doesn’t sleep well at night anymore.
Your baby will likely appreciate some more mature toys. See my post on the best toys for 10-12 month old babies for ideas on what is great for a 10-11 month old.
I have a whole lot of ideas here for what to do with your 10 month old each day, so be sure to read that!
>>>Read: Baby Playtime Activities By Age
Sleep
Your baby should be at two naps a day. Those two naps should be around 1.5-2.5 hours long. Common waketime length for this age group is 120-180 minutes.
10 Month Schedule Basics
Most ten month olds this month will have the following in their schedule:
- Eat 3-4 times a day. Again, I don’t recommend 3 times a day if you are breastfeeding.
- Should be able to eat finger foods and be eating solid foods. Remember, solid foods happen with the liquid feeding (immediately after or immediately before).
- Have 2 naps a day. But I will note, one of my girls had a third nap still for most of this age (she was working on dropping it) so keep a third nap if it is needed.
- Sleep 10-12 hours at night.
- Have Independent Playtime each day. This will typically be 30-45 minutes long. Read more about Independent Playtime Lengths here.

Sample Schedule 4
10 month old boy
On a 4.5 hour schedule (same schedule since 8.5 months). Has been reducing his bottle ounces recently – went from 24oz at 6 months to about 12-16oz per day since 9.5 months. We offer a sippy of milk or water all day if he’s thirsty and might get another ounce or two that way. Not a big eater overall. Has access to a snack trap in his playroom – seems to be happier about eating on the go which I don’t like but am allowing the playroom Cheerios while he is learning how to feed himself.
Wake, 4-6oz bottle, and solids at 730am
Nap #1 from 10-12pm
Wake, 4-6oz bottle, and solids at noon.
Nap #2 from 230-430pm
Wake, 4-6oz bottle, and solids at 430pm. (If he eats well at this meal it’s dinner and he sits with us at gets a snack at 6pm-ish when we eat dinner. If not, 430pm meal becomes the snack and we try to feed him again at our dinner time).
Sit with us at dinner at 6pm and has puffs or other finger foods.
Bath and PJs at 630pm
7pm light play and wind down for bed
715pm bedtime bottle (3oz)
Frequently Asked Questions for 10 Month Old Schedules
- LoveMommyhood: I have a 10 month old and I’m not sure what her schedule should be. Should it be a 4 hour schedule or a 5 hour schedule, a combo, etc? Right now she eats BF at 7am, L at11:30 or 12, dnr at 4:00-5:00pm and night time bottle at 7pm. It seems like she would be fine with just one long nap in the afternoon because if she sleeps in the morning she only sleeps 35-45 minutes in the afternoon (if she sleeps at all) but if she doesn’t sleep well in the morning or not at all then she sleeps 1.5 – 2.5 hours in the afternoon. I can’t get her to sleep 2 good naps of at least 1.5 hours. According to BW she needs two naps until 14-16 months old. Which makes me think I’m doing something wrong with her schedule and her wake time. Can someone give me an example of what their schedule looks like for a 10 month old and how long the feeding intervals should be? I’ve been struggling with this for about a month. I’ve tried shortening and lengthening wake times but I can’t seem to find anything that works. Thanks!

Sorry if I missed it but Why have liquid and solids at the same time at this age?
Because the liquid and the solid are part of a meal. You work to get a newborn eating every 3 hours. Then they move to 4 hours as they get a little older. If a 4 month old can go 4 hours between feedings, so can an 11 month old. You don’t want to move into a “snacking” situation with an 11 month old just like you didn’t want to with a newborn.
Hey, so I really enjoy the help from your site, im in a weird pickle with my girl. It doesn’t hurt to ask for advice 😁
She’s 10 months old
Currently her schedule is
6:30-6:45ish Wake/Nurse/Breakfast
8-8:30ish – 30-40 min nap. (She could fall asleep anywhere between 8 and 8:30)
9:30 – Nurse
11- Nap 1.5 or 2 hrs
1p- Nurse and Lunch
2:45-3ish- Nap another 30 mins
4:30- Nurse
5-5:30 – Dinner
6- (Possible extra nap for 25-30 mins she wakes up on her own)
7:30- Nurse and in bed close to 8
So she’s been on this for quite a while. My son has school at our church about 25 mins away, so her two 30 min naps are in the car. I don’t really have any option there. So I can’t get her to just 2 long naps, it’s almost impossible with my sons school schedule. She nurses 5 times a day but I’ve seen by her age a lot of people only have 3 or 4 nursing sessions. I’m not sure what changes I should be making for her development, if it’s even necessary, and if it is then how do I do it?
I don’t recommend 3 nursing sessions. Most people need 4 for supply. But 4 is very common for this age. The two school drop offs make that hard. Would you be able to get her to wake up later in the morning? If you could get her waking up closer to when you drive to school so that drive is not during naptime, that could change your whole day. The first nap is the most important nap, so if it were me, I would be doing everything I could to get the schedule so that first nap could be at home and be a solid 2 hour nap.
